Heather is a licensed Funeral Director, certified Funeral Celebrant, and Grief Support Specialist working at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho. She is also a Deathcare Researcher and Educator who considers her work as “bridging the gap between the funeral industry and the community.” Heather’s academic background is in Mortuary Science, Psychology, Thanatology, Conflict Management, College Teaching, and Communication. Her research and training focus on developing a deeper understanding of how we, as funeral professionals, can be better communicators with our families as well as creating ways to help our families go from crisis, to grief, to mourning in a healthy and healing way. While her work and studies are her passion, there is still room in her heart to be a dedicated volunteer as an on-call crisis responder for the Trauma Intervention Program of Treasure Valley (TIP).
